Short answer: Between mid-November 2026 and early January 2027, the best car events in the UAE are the Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition (10-12 November), The Motor Show in Sharjah (14 November), the Dubai 4x4 Expo (20-22 November), Icons of Porsche (21-22 November), the 1000 Miglia Experience UAE (28 November to 3 December), the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (4-6 December) and the Liwa International Festival (11 December to 2 January). Dates, venues and entry details below were checked on 2 November 2026 against organiser and news sources.

It's written by VIP Rent a Car, a luxury and sports car rental company operating from Al Barsha 1, Dubai, since 2000. Several of these events are in different emirates, so we've added a short note on how to get there and which type of car suits each one.

What to check before you go to any UAE car event:

  • Whether the event has been confirmed recently, as some motorsport dates in the region have moved this year
  • Ticket type and price, and whether parking or park entry is charged separately
  • The distance from your hotel or home, and the mileage included in your rental
  • Whether the event involves off-road driving, which rental cars are normally not allowed to do

How We Chose These Events

We looked for events that are open to car fans and visitors, take place within the next three months, and have a date and venue confirmed by the organiser or a recent news report.

That filter removed a few events. Creventic moved the January Michelin 24H Dubai race from Dubai Autodrome to Kyalami in South Africa, citing uncertainty in the Gulf region, so it isn't on this list. Formula 1 confirmed in early October that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will go ahead as planned.

The 7 Events

1. Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference (10-12 November)

The RTA is organising the first Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference at Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme "Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future". The organisers expect more than 300 exhibitors and over 10,000 specialist visitors.

This is aimed at industry professionals and decision makers, so it is not a car show in the usual sense. Reports don't say whether the general public can enter, so check access with the organiser before planning a visit.

If you want to drive an EV rather than look at one, see our Tesla rental in Dubai page for current models.

2. The Motor Show Sharjah (14 November)

The Motor Show is a free, open-air car meet run by Sharjah's investment authority, Shurooq, with the UAE Cars Club. The 14 November date is the second stop on a four-venue tour: Al Qasba on 3 October, Al Heera Beach on 14 November, Al Majaz Waterfront on 12 December and Khorfakkan Beach on 16 January 2027. Each event runs from 4 pm to 9 pm.

More than 100 cars are expected, including entries from across the GCC. Categories listed are performance, modified and tuned, muscle, Japanese sports and tuner, classic, and 4x4 and off-road vehicles. There is also live music and children's entertainment.

Entry is free, but display cars are managed by the car clubs, so owners can't just turn up with a car. Some reports call the tour "Sharjah Auto Fest", so you may see both names. If you want a sports car for the evening, see our sports car rental in Dubai page.

3. Dubai 4x4 Expo (20-22 November)

The Dubai 4x4 Expo runs at Safa Park from Friday to Sunday, 2 pm to 10 pm daily. It covers 4x4 vehicles, ATVs and RVs, parts and accessories, modification products, camping gear and talks on vehicle modifications and off-road safety.

The expo itself is free, but Safa Park's normal entry fee applies. The full exhibitor list and talk schedule were still to be announced at the time of writing.

If you're visiting with family, a comfortable SUV rental in Dubai gives you room for the whole group.

4. Icons of Porsche (21-22 November)

Icons of Porsche is Porsche's annual festival for the owner community, now in its sixth edition. This year it moves to a new venue, The Square in Nad Al Sheba, after being held at Dubai Design District in 2025. Last year's edition drew more than 30,000 visitors and over 1,000 cars, and organisers expect similar numbers.

Tickets are AED 85 from IconsOfPorsche.com, and children under 12 get free entry with registration when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

If you'd rather arrive in one, VIP has a full Porsche rental in Dubai range, including the 911 Carrera 4 GTS and 911 GT3.

5. 1000 Miglia Experience UAE (28 November to 3 December)

This is the UAE edition of the Italian classic car rally. It has three classes: the 1000 Miglia Class for cars built from 1927 to 1957, Classic Icons for classics up to 1985, and Contemporary Icons for modern classics and supercars built after 1985.

A two-day showcase is open to the public at DIFC on 28 and 29 November, where crews complete checks and collect equipment. The race itself starts on 30 November and runs through 3 December, with 120 crews crossing all seven emirates, including the Jebel Jais climb, Jebel Hafeet and a time trial in the Tilal Swaihan desert. The official page shows a slightly different start date in its header, so check the schedule before you go.

The showcase is the easiest way to see the cars up close. Ticket prices and spectator access along the route weren't listed. For the modern end of the field, our supercar rental in Dubai and Ferrari rental pages show what is available to drive yourself.

6. Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (4-6 December)

The season finale takes place at Yas Marina Circuit, with the race on Sunday 6 December. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali confirmed on 3 October that the Abu Dhabi and Qatar races would go ahead as scheduled, and said around 99 percent of Abu Dhabi tickets had sold. Race ticket holders also get access to the Yas Island theme parks, and after-race concerts run through the weekend.

Tickets are sold through the official site, abudhabigp.com. With the grandstands nearly sold out, check the official site for any remaining categories and avoid unofficial resellers.

Yas Island is roughly 120 to 150 km from most parts of Dubai each way, so mileage and traffic after the race are worth planning. A luxury car rental in Dubai with a driver option can be easier than driving back late on race night. Ask the team about arrangements for Abu Dhabi.

7. Liwa International Festival (11 December to 2 January)

The Liwa International Festival runs in the Liwa desert in Al Dhafra, centred on Tal Moreeb, the UAE's tallest dune at more than 300 metres. The motorsport programme includes the Liwa Burnout Challenge, Liwa Drift, UTV racing, motorbike drag racing and freestyle displays. The Tal Moreeb Car Championship finale runs from 30 December to 2 January. Nitro Circus shows are listed for 19 and 20 December.

Liwa is a long drive from Dubai, so book a car with enough included kilometres or plan an overnight stay. The dune areas themselves are off-limits for standard rental cars.

Planning Tips for UAE Car Events

  • Check the kilometres included. Dubai to Yas Island or Liwa adds up quickly. Ask about the daily allowance and the charge per extra kilometre.
  • Allow for Salik and parking. Toll gates charge each time you pass, and event parking can be limited. Arrive early on peak days.
  • Do not drive off-road in a rental. This applies to the desert events above. Check the rental agreement before any trip off tarmac.
  • Book early for the F1 weekend and Icons of Porsche. Cars and hotel rooms go first, and delivery slots fill up.
  • Consider a driver. For late finishes in Abu Dhabi, a car with driver removes the return drive.
  • Keep documents with you. Residents need an Emirates ID and UAE licence; tourists need a passport, visit visa or entry stamp, and a valid home licence or International Driving Permit.

Events to Watch

The Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit was moved to 10 January 2027, according to the organiser's announcement in December 2025. We couldn't find a more recent confirmation, so check the official site before planning around it.

Several earlier-year events, such as Concorso Italiano UAE, The Grand Picnic and Custom Show Emirates, return on dates that haven't been confirmed for the next season. We'll update this guide when dates are announced.
