Porsche Mission S Revealed New Supercar Above the 911

Porsche Mission S Revealed New Supercar Above the 911
The Porsche Mission S was unveiled on Thursday 15 October 2026 on a pier in Queens, New York. It is a concept for a mid-engine supercar that will sit above the 911, and Porsche says it will be a permanent part of the range, not a limited run. Engine, power, performance, price and production timing have not been announced.
This guide covers what Porsche has confirmed about the new supercar, what is still rumour, and what UAE buyers and car enthusiasts can realistically expect.
What Porsche Revealed
The Mission S is a design concept. It previews a future mid-engine super sports car, but it is not the final production car, and Porsche has not shown the production design. Porsche publishes its announcements on its official newsroom.
The more important detail is the positioning. Porsche's last supercars, the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder, were limited production cars. Porsche chairman Michael Leiters described the Mission S as "a permanent and versatile addition to our customer offering", which means a model that stays on sale alongside the 911 rather than a one-off halo.
It also replaces an earlier idea. The Mission X, shown in 2023 as an electric hypercar concept, never reached production. The Mission S takes a different direction, and Porsche has said it is not electric.

Design and Interior
The design borrows from several Porsches. The flat front end takes cues from the 911 GT1, the rear carries an active hoop spoiler inspired by the 959, and a horizontal cooling fan beneath the rear window nods to the 917. Other details include round headlights, a roof scoop feeding air to the engine, stacked quad exhaust tips, and wheels reported at 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear.
Inside, the cabin is built around five round gauges. The rev counter is analogue with a digital display behind it, and it moves closer to the driver depending on the drive mode. There is no central touchscreen and no passenger screen. Instead, a retractable MagSafe phone holder handles navigation, and the My Porsche app controls vehicle functions and lets owners choose instrument styles. Physical switches, paddle shifters, a key on the left of the steering wheel and a Sport Chrono style stopwatch complete the layout.
The reveal colours were Firn White Metallic and Light Red Metallic. Concept details like these often change before production.
Porsche Mission S Engine: What Do We Know?
Porsche has not disclosed the powertrain. What can be said is that the car is mid-engined and that Porsche has said it is not electric. Reports differ on whether Porsche has left a hybrid open, and the company has not given specifications.
Some clues exist, but they are unofficial. Cluster images from the concept show an 8,000 rpm redline, which points towards a combustion engine. A German business paper reported in September that Porsche was developing a new eight-cylinder boxer engine, and many outlets expect the Mission S to use it. Treat that as a rumour until Porsche confirms it.
Porsche Mission S Price and Release Date
No price and no on-sale date have been announced. Estimates from different outlets vary widely, and all are unofficial. The sensible assumption is that it will cost significantly more than a 911 and arrive some time after the concept stage, but neither point is confirmed.
It arrives as other makers have launched hybrid hypercars, including the Ferrari F80 and the McLaren W1. Porsche has not said how the Mission S will compare.
Porsche Mission S in the UAE: What to Expect
No UAE launch plans, pricing or allocation have been announced. As with any new Porsche, regional pricing and timing will be set for the market closer to production, and nothing about the Mission S has been published for the region yet.
A few points are worth keeping in mind:
- It is a concept, so there are no orders and no deposits yet. Be cautious of any site claiming UAE availability or an AED price.
- Specs quoted in early articles beyond the confirmed list are mostly guesses.
- The permanent range suggests a longer product life than a limited run, but timing is still unknown.
